jarteaga87, the device you ask about is a mechanically assisted adjusting instrument, spring loaded like an impact hammer, to make a small, very rapid movement of the vertebral joints. This stimulates brain circuits to alter postural muscle activity, normalizing spinal motion and function.

chaseman2199, it sounds to me as if the spinal issue (called subluxation by DC’s) is SECONDARY to some other event going on; that’s why it comes back so quickly. I would recommend that you find someone trained in Applied Kinesiology to do a thorough exam and identify what the underlying issue is. You might also look at how much sugar/simple carbos you are getting (x-s is VERY common) and how many green veggies you eat (2 little VERY common). Contact me on my website for a local referral. see top

paperandtea, arthritis is inflammation, swelling of the joint capsule, and deposition of calcium to create bone spurs. While cold can reduce circulation it also makes muscles contract (to generate heat) irritating the joints, I believe that the typically low barometric pressure that accompanies winter encourages expansion of the swollen and thickened joint capsule. This is why old injuries sometimes announce the coming rain. The uneven leg length sometimes indicates low adrenal function. fixable

The fluid in your knee and your spine is probably “freezing” up. A heating pad can help. I’m no chiropractor, but it is common sense.

just to throw in some advice, if you get adjustments and yet the morning after your still in pain you need to get some X-rays and see what the doctor has to say. From what ive personal seen adjustments work for a couple of weeks or so.

WTFJ0ker, yes one can use massage before an athletic event, particularly an invigorating type of technique, rather than one which would lead to becoming very relaxed. Also, right after something very strenuous, like a Triathlon, it is not advisable to do nearly any kind of massage, especially deep tissue or sports massage, and the exception would be lymphatic drainage techniques that are quite gentle and directed to accumulated fluid, not muscle tension. Different purpose, different method.

voden6, if you hunt through some previous comments I offer a detailed explanation of the reflex nature of that procedure, which elicits a reaction from sequential muscles that anchor on various bony structures. It is a method of evaluating the neural integration of joint complexes, and that directs me to an appropriate correction.
