Question about auto accident healthcare?

My wife was hurt in a wreck. The other driver’s insurance company has accepted 100% of the liability. My wife has been treating for months. It really sucks to see her in such pain and needing to go through so much. Our car insurance company has meet our limit, on our end, and she has been using our health insurance to pay many of the medical bills. However, our health insurance does not pay 100% of each treatment, and we owe thousands of dollars, even though none of this was our fault. We are lucky in that we can pay it, but it seems so wrong. I don’t know how people hold up through this.

We were told that the liable car insurance company will not pay anything until my wife has completed her treatment. We do not know how long that will take. My wife has a trip planned for out of the country coming up. She planned it way before the accident. If she receives treatment outside of the nation for a month and then comes back to the states, would the car insurance company be able to use this as a excuse to refuse to reimburse her future treatment, if it is still needed after she returns? I mean, could they claim that she had a lapse in treatment/make a case that she no longer needs it? Could she bring the medical records from the other nation back with her to show that there was no laspe?

The costs of treatment would be lower in the other nation even though she will pay it all out-of-pocket. She does not care if the car insurance company pays back what she spends on the treatment outside of the nation as long as they will pay back any treatments she may need once she returns–if it is needed.

She has a great and stable job and is not looking to milk the car insurance company, but it seems that the system is really on their side as she is having to pay medical bills for something that she did not cause until she is better. The whole ordeal seems like an endless nightmare, and I am grateful for any advice.

What is my auto accident injury claim worth?

I was hit in the three months ago by a sixteen year-old who ran a red arrow turn light. She was cited and I was not. I did not think I was hurt at the accident, but realized that I had shoulder and neck pain later that night. I went to the urgent care through my doctor who gave me vicodin and a muscle relaxer, and then I went back in two weeks due to continuing pain. I was sent to a physical therapist, which I went to twice a week for the past few months, and once a week the last two weeks. My PT has given me stretching exercises to do at home but has said I am done with the treatment.

Her insurance has accepted liability and already paid for my car to be fixed (just under $4,000) and for a rental car. They knew I was seeking treatment for the accident, and I am getting ready to send a letter asking them to request all my medical bills and records so they can offer a settlement. How much do you think my claim is worth?

Question for auto accident adjusters …. settlement question.?
My wife and myself had an accident a few months ago and we are now finished with treatment. We both recieved whiplash , neck pain , and lower back pain. We both still have some days, where our necks feel tight and some lower back pain. — I wanted to know what my case is worth. Here are some of the details.. The car was hit from behind causing $ 6,500 worth of damage to the car and the ins. has already paid for that. The EMT’s did come to the accident and transported my wife to the ER. Both of us went to the doctors office a few times and each had a few X-ray’s and I had a CT scan. My wife also had a few weeks of physical therapy. Medical bills total $ 4,106.00 and lose wages $ 838.00. I have been told that you are able to get 2 times your medical bills and time lost. Is this right ? Please give me the best answer you can and tell me what you might settle the case for. Thanks

I hit a parked vehicle and filed a claim to have my car repaired ($2800 in damages). The owner of the parked vehicle did not file a claim for any damage, even though they were contacted.
Has anyone else had better treatment from other reliable insurance companies and should I look for a change? I thought my loyalty meant something!
I am the only person on this policy and the only driver of my vehicle.

Back in January i was involved in a bad auto accident that was 100% not my fault. I was heading straight and the driver of the other car was heading towards me and then took a left hand turn in front of me without yielding. The driver turned while i was so close that i didnt even have time to hit the breaks, i ended up hitting the car at almost 45 mph head on for her, side for her. The driver ended up being a 16 year old non licensed driver driving her boyfriends parents car. The car was insured however. Since the accident i have been in chiropractic treatment, i started at 3 times a week then 2 then 1 then once ever other week as the months have gone on, i have recently finished treatment. My Dr. told me that i will need further treatment such as physical therapy in which i will have to negotiate into the settlement when comes time to settle. My Car was a total loss as you can imagine and the total amount paid out in property damages was almost $14,000. Since i was rushed to the hospital the night of, i racked up a 7,100 hospital bill, plus chiropractic and numerous doctor visits. My medical bills stand at about $13,000. Aside from economic damages many other things have changed since. Although im done with treatment my back still hurts from time to time, little things like concerts, mall visits, watching tv, anything that requires long time sitting makes me uncomfortable. I also had to put of school this last year, its to hard to work school around work let alone appointments 1-3 times a week. its also been a lot of stress mentally and financially, the gas expenses have been stressful ect. i think 45-50 K is a reasonable settlement if an attorney is hired. am i off base?
Yes i do have an attorney, however we are not heading into the settlement process until mid September so i have been doing my own research and collecting my own thoughts to what i think is reasonable. yes my back will never be the same unfortunately. im not worried about the insurance company not paying my medical bills and all other economical damages im worried about pain and suffering. i want fair compensation for the inconvenience, stress, anxiety, financial distress, pain, and things like having to put off school for almost a year. I am back to work, i took less then i week off after the accident, i simply couldn’t afford otherwise. I did however miss several hours for extended lunches for Dr. appointments. although now, to this day daily job duties around the office im limited to, lifting, ect. i thought settling around 45-50k was reasonable, that means after attorney fees which is 1/3, med bills are paid, i would be left with 18-22k but i dont know if that is just a crazy number
